ICOR – Statement against the fascist-racist terrorist attack in Norway

Oslo experienced a bomb attack motivated by anticommunism, fascism and racism and a calculated massacre of young people occurred at a summer camp of the Norwegian “Workers' Youth League”, which had been justified by Christian fundamentalism.

Our condolences and sympathy are with the innocent victims, especially the children and young people who were brutally executed in this inhuman massacre.

The responsibility for this act lies not with some furious individual culprit but with the neo-fascist terror and propaganda being more and more directed against international solidarity, the anti-fascist struggle and the international revolutionary and workers’ movement.

Whoever commits terrorist acts in a cowardly way with a fascist and racist ideology is no individual culprit but a conscious enforcer of an inhuman ideology being tolerated and partly promoted by those in power to suppress the revolutionary workers’ movement and to suppress progressive ideas.

These neo-fascist tendencies reflect the proneness to crisis of the imperialist world system and the ambition of the ruling class to stop their downfall by any means.

We will transform our rage and the horror that struck us into an even greater determination to build the international solidarity and collaboration of all peoples in the struggle against exploitation and oppression, for real socialism.

We emphasize at this point that there is a need for the working class and the oppressed masses to lead an organised struggle against the fascists and to impose the ban of all fascist organisations and their propaganda.
