Dear ICOR organisations,

Last year there was the ICOR resolution in solidarity with the Kurdish revolutionary Ecevit Piroglu, who is illegally imprisoned in Serbia and who is to be extradited to the Turkish fascist authorities. Solidarity prevented the extradition, but through long attrition tactics and dirty deals with the Turkish state, the Serbian state is preventing the rightful asylum for Ecevit Piroglu and is looking for detours to hand him over to the fascist Turkish justice system. It is difficult for democratic lawyers to intervene, as his current detention contradicts any Serbian jurisdiction and is de facto executed.

We ask all ICOR organisations to hand over the attached protest letter to the Serbian authorities in your countries according to their possibilities, to send faxes, e-mails, letters and to carry out protest actions. We ask your solidarity and prisoner organisations, as well as lawyers, to put Ecevit Piroglu on the agenda. According to the Solidarity Circle for Ecevit Piroglu, these solidarity actions have always had an effect and have put pressure on the Serbian authorities in the country, causing them to behave noticeably differently.
