8 March Event
TKP-ML KKB celebrated March 8, International Working Women's Day with the slogan "With the struggle we weave and organise with our labour, let's destroy the patriarchal system together with its roots ’.
Communist Party of Turkey Marxist Leninist Communist Women's Union, with an event organised on March 8, said ‘Let's Destroy the Patriarchal System Together with its Roots with the Struggle We Weave and Organise with Our Labour’.
The event started with a moment of silence for Ayfer Celep and Münire Sağdıç, who were immortalised on 8 March 1999, and for all the martyrs of the revolution. After the minute of silence, the slogans ‘Martyr Namirin’ were chanted. The event continued with the reading of the declaration issued by TKP-ML KKB on 8 March in Arabic.
In the speech made after the reading of the declaration, it was stated that patriarchy was strengthened due to the imperialist aggression in the Middle East.
It was pointed out that the burden of the ongoing wars is on the shoulders of women and that the attacks intensified in Syria after Palestine. It was stated that in the Alawite massacre in Syria, as in the Armenian Genocide 110 years ago, women were again the first target. It was stated that the reactionary HTS gangs forced women to wear black headscarves just like DAESH and tried to prevent men and women from walking on the same path.
Finally, it was said that women's liberation is only possible with their own hands.
The event ended with halays and slogans ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadi’.
