Comrade Bazlur Rashid firoz, general secretary of Socialist Party of Bangladesh-SPB has condemned the brutal attack on the protesters demonstrating against Erdogan's AKP government in Turkey. He also demanded immediate release of the thousands of protesters who were arrested by the government including the Communist Party of Turkey's head of Istanbul city and party council members.Comrade Firoz said that the arrest of Imamoglu, Mayor of Istanbul and the main opponent for Erdogan in the upcoming presidential elections, sparked the protests among people who want democracy, freedom of speech and right to vote. Even the lawyer defending Imamoglu was detained by the police and later was released on conditions of not leaving the country. More than 11 Journalists were arrested for covering the news of the protests.police has been violently using tear gas, plastic pellets and water cannons on the protesters. Till today, they have arrested more than 1900 people according to Government sources. Undoubtedly Erdogan's suppressive attitude to his opposition is the initiator of these protests.Comrade Firoz expressed his deepest solidarity with the protests in Turkey. He also expressed revolutionary solidarity with fraternal party TKP and all the democratic & peace loving forces who are actively joining the resistance against the fascist rule of AKP in Turkey.
