Immediate release of Ghassen Henchiri! Solidarity with Palestine is not a crime!

ICOR Chief Coordinator and Deputy Main Coordinator,

Ghassen Henchiri, member of the PPDS Tunisia, has been arrested by the Tunisian government, along with five other leading activists of the Sumud Maghreb Flotilla for supporting the people of Gaza. He has been charged with “terrorism” and accused of money laundering and illegal fundraising. This is outrageous and is strongly rejected by ICOR. The arrest was part of a campaign of defamation and repression against Palestine solidarity. With the start of the US-Israel alliance's war against Iran, which violates international law, the government in Tunis has changed its tactics. It is not addressing this dangerous escalation in the Middle East. Instead, it is intensifying its suppression of the anti-imperialist, anti-fascist, and pro-Palestinian freedom movement in the country.

The accusations against Ghassen Henchiri and his comrades are fabricated and baseless.

For decades, Ghassen has been a courageous fighter for the freedom of the Palestinian people and an important authority in the anti-imperialist movement.

The prisoners must be released immediately and all charges against them must be dropped.
