WE STRONGLY CONDEMNS AND PROTESTS U.S. IMPERIALIST AGGRESSION IN VENEZUELA AND THE ABDUCTION OF PRESIDENT MADURO AND HIS WIFE
In a statement Issued to the press today. 3 January 2025. Comrade Rashid Firoz. General Secretary of the Central Committee of the SPB. condemned and protested the U.S. military aggression against Venezuela the abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife. car in blatant disregard of all international norms and diplomatic convention He stated that in this attack. civilian and military installations in Cara other regions of the country were targeted. This aggression constitutes violation of the UN Charter, international law, and the universally principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence in affairs. Such imperialist aggression poses a serious threat to peace and in Latin America and the Caribbean and endangers the lives of mi Venezuelan people. SPB unequivocally condemns this U.S. aggression once again exposes the aggressive nature of U.S. imperialism and its c for international norms. At the same time. it has also exposed the in and compromised character of the United Nations and other international institutions.
In the statement. he said that after the formation of the government Venezuela under the leadership of Hugo Chávez in 2009. the country broke free from U.S. imperialist domination. built an independent national economy and nationalized its oil resources and other mineral wealth. After Chávez’s death, the Maduro government has continued this policy and has been carrying forward the struggle to uphold national interests. SPB expresses firm solidarity with the government and people of Venezuela in their just struggle and declares its steadfast support for national sovereignty, political independence and the right to choose their own path of development. Under the pretext of the so-called war on drugs, the real objective of this attack is to seize Venezuela's oil and mineral resources and to impose a forced regime change in alliance with reactionary oligarchic forces.
He further stated that these objectives of U.S. imperialism will never succeed, as history has repeatedly shown. Just as the outcomes for the United States were disastrous in Vietnam, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Palestine and other parts of the world. it will face a similarly tragic fate in Venezuela. Venezuela has the legitimate right to self-defence under the UN Charter and he demanded that this grave issue be raised in international forums.
Finally, he called upon all peace-loving people, democratic forces and progressive governments across the world including Bangladesh to raise their voices against this imperialist aggression and to stand in active solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution and the people of Venezuela in defence of peace, sovereignty and self-determination.
